Susan Espiritu Maquindang
 
 
The Filipino Directory Online and The Filipino Journal is proud to present Susan Espiritu Maquindang, a charming Asian leader with a big heart especially to the Filipino Community. She is always there if you need her. For her accommodating spirit and leadership, we salute her and say with pride "Mabuhay!" Susan Espiritu Maquindang is the Executive Director of Filipino-American Service Group, Inc. (FASGI), a non- profit community based social service agency. She has been the executive director of FASGI since October 1994.
Ms. Maquindang is a graduate from University of the East, Philippines and at the University of California Los Angeles major in accounting. She also took post graduate courses at Loyola Marymount University and was also an alumni of CORO, Leadership of Southern California, Valley Leadership Institute and Shelter Partnership Homeless Shelter Training Institute. Ms. Maquindang is an ardent advocate for Filipino American World War II Veterans on their struggles for justice and was arrested when she chained herself, together with twelve Filipino American World War II veterans, at the White House during the veteran's rally. Ms. Maquindang was featured at the Washington Post and Washington Times newspapers. Ms. Maquindang was given awards from United States Congressman Bob Filner, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor Yvonne Burke and the United Filipino American Veterans (UFAV). She is an advisory board member of the Queen of Angel and Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, Treasurer of Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (APPCON), founder of FILVOTE, board member of the Asian Pacific Islanders Health Institute (APAHAI), Board member and chair of Region IX, National Federation of Filipino American Associations, (NaFFAA), former member of United Way Allocation Committee, San Fernando Valley, former chair of the Asian Pacific Islanders Council of San Fernando Valley, former board member of Asian Pacific Community Fund, and former president of the Boholanos of Southern California, Inc. Ms. Maquindang was born in Cebu City, Philippines and has twin boys Ronel and Romel and a daughter Jennifer Marie.
